Rain showers a few hours before the start of the parade had caused all of the local school bands to cancel their performances, but the rain cleared up and help off during the parade. This parade video was originally live-streamed on the City of Fort Walton Beach, FL’s Facebook page.

Fort Walton Beach Christmas Parade 2019
The City of Fort Walton Beach, Florida 2019 Christmas Parade, “A Storybook Christmas” took place at 6 :30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019.
The route begins at First Street and proceeds north on Eglin Parkway to the old K-Mart parking lot. The parade includes approximately 100 entries ranging from non-profits and the military to area schools, bands, civic organizations and area businesses. Parade entries are divided into five categories and awards will be presented for the following: Best Marching, Best Youth Organization, Best Religious Organization, Best Service and Best Commercial. Santa will close the parade riding on the Fort Walton Beach fire truck. The parade is recorded and will be rebroadcast on Facebook, YouTube, Emerald Coast TV and Cox Channel 6 during the month of December.

Hurricane Michael in Destin-Fort Walton Beach
Our storm chaser, RJ Murdock, was out early morning before Hurricane Michael makes landfall to see how the storm was effecting Destin, Okaloosa Island, and Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
After landfall, here are a few boats, docks and a tree in Destin that fell victim to Hurricane Michael.
