23rd South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic 2019

The 23rd South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic benefiting the Veterans Lodge took place at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in November 2019. This is a 2-day charity golf tournament that included about 50 sports celebrities teams.

This year’s tournament’s proceeds will go to the Veterans Lodge, a “one-stop” facility to assist veterans with all their needs. The facility is being built in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, at the corner of I-10 and Rt-331. This 1-hour show aired on FoxSports in December 2019 as well as a few more times in January 2020. It was produced by Emerald Coast TV for the South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic organization.

Making Connections – December 2019 Episode

In this episode of Making Connections, David Triana interviews a local non-profit, “Have Hope You Matter”, initially created to help assist those who were affected by Hurricane Michael… as well as interview a local filmmaker, Megan Caufield, about her Kite Film Festival award winning short film, Deportacion.  Edna Hernadez provides events updates for December 2019.

Fort Walton Beach Christmas Parade 2019

The City of Fort Walton Beach, Florida  2019 Christmas Parade, “A Storybook Christmas” took place at 6 :30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2019.

The route begins at First Street and proceeds north on Eglin Parkway to the old K-Mart parking lot. The parade includes approximately 100 entries ranging from non-profits and the military to area schools, bands, civic organizations and area businesses. Parade entries are divided into five categories and awards will be presented for the following: Best Marching, Best Youth Organization, Best Religious Organization, Best Service and Best Commercial. Santa will close the parade riding on the Fort Walton Beach fire truck. The parade is recorded and will be rebroadcast on Facebook, YouTube, Emerald Coast TV and Cox Channel 6 during the month of December.

Emerald Coast Classic 2019 Basketball Tournament

The Emerald Coast Classic is an 8 team college basketball tournament held during Thanksgiving of the NCAA Division I men’s basketball season, with the inaugural tournament beginning in 2014.

The third round and final round of the 2019 Emerald Coast Classic will be played in The Arena at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Florida.

Official 2019 Billy Bowlegs Torchlight Parade

The 64th Billy Bowlegs Festival closes it’s celebration with it’s Torchlight Parade on Monday night on Eglin Parkway in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The parade took place on June 3, 2019.

It is hosted by the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce (Ted Corcoran) and this year’s parade sponsor, Step One Automotive (Maureen Bierman).

This 60 minute video airs on ox Cable Channel 6 at various times and dates throughout the month of June.  It was produced by EmeraldCoastTV.com .

Our Emerald Coast Community – Wounded Warrior Christofer Curtis

On this episode of OECC, our co-host Martha Laguardia Kotite interviews Christofer Curtis, a local Wounded Warrior airman stationed at Hurlburt Field, Florida, about his tragic combat related injury, his road to recovery and to fly again, and about the support from family, friends and veteran related organizations such at the Fisher house.

Produced in the Emerald Coast TV Studios at the Landmark Center in downtown Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This episode aired on Cox Cable Ch6 in May 2019.
