23rd South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic 2019

The 23rd South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic benefiting the Veterans Lodge took place at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort in November 2019. This is a 2-day charity golf tournament that included about 50 sports celebrities teams.

This year’s tournament’s proceeds will go to the Veterans Lodge, a “one-stop” facility to assist veterans with all their needs. The facility is being built in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, at the corner of I-10 and Rt-331. This 1-hour show aired on FoxSports in December 2019 as well as a few more times in January 2020. It was produced by Emerald Coast TV for the South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic organization.

Emerald Coast Classic 2019 Basketball Tournament

The Emerald Coast Classic is an 8 team college basketball tournament held during Thanksgiving of the NCAA Division I men’s basketball season, with the inaugural tournament beginning in 2014.

The third round and final round of the 2019 Emerald Coast Classic will be played in The Arena at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Florida.

2019 All Sports Association Awards Banquet & Events

The All Sports Association is a Northwest Florida organization that recognizes and support athletes from the area… and whose primary mission is to provide a contribution of time to raise money for local youth-oriented non-profit organizations with an emphasis on sports programs.  The annual awards banquet, the flagship of the organization’s fundraising activity, as well as other events leading up to it are used to recognize individuals who are contributing to their sports and their community.

The highlight event of the year for the All Sports Association, the Awards banquet identifies and honors the finest athletes from Northwest Florida. This 2019 Buck Smith Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Breakfast took place in the early morning of February 15, 2019 in the Raider Arena at Northwest Florida State College. Over 1700 students from Okaloosa & Walton county attended to meet the 2018 Wuerffel Trophy winner Drue Tranquill, watch Lydia Turner receive the Taylor Haugen Trophy, and listen to Tommy and Bobby Bowden talk about leading a faithful and meaningful life. The event ended with a presentation by the FCA Huddle prayer teams.


The All Sports Association 2019 Fish Fry took place on February 14, 2019 at the Northwest Florida Fairgrounds in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Notable local high school athlete were recognized as well as heard from two featured guest speakers, Olympian Mia Manganello and former University of Alabama and NFL San Francisco 49er football player, Glen Coffee.


The All Sports Association’s Hall of Fame and Past Presidents Luncheon took place on February 13, 2019 at the Emerald Coast Convention Center. This year’s Hall of Fame inductees included Dr Jolyn Taylor, a former Choctawhatchee high school student and tennis player who was a 2-time NCAA Div III Women’s Doubles Champion, 2-times NCAA Div III Women’s Singles Finalist, and 6-time All American. The other inductee was 6-times world boxing champion, Roy Jones, Jr, who was also named the “Fighter of the Decade” for the 1990s by the Boxing Writers Association of America.

22nd South Walton Celebrity Golf Classic 2018

Originally aired on Fox Sports’ Sun Sports channel on  Thanksgiving Day, November 21, 2018.

This year’s celebrity charity golf tournament benefits the Veteran’s Lodge, a non-profit organization whose mission is to create a Center for Healing for our veterans.   Learn more about the Veteran’s Lodge at www.VeteransLodge.org

Darryl Strawberry is the featured keynote speaker for the 2018 Night of Integrity at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on the campus of Northwest Florida State College. This event was open to all students athletes from Okaloosa and Walton counties and was sponsored and promoted by All Sports Association, the Emerald Coast FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), the Okaloosa County Sheriff Office, and Northwest Florida State College.

Darryl Strawberry is described as a legend by many who have been dazzled by the dynamics of his game, the power he possessed at the plate and the story of redemption that continues to bring hope to so many lives. He has earned the legendary nicknames and phrases of one of the most feared homerun hitters in the game of baseball, Straw’s Sweet Swing, Strawberry’s Field Forever and The Legendary Straw Man!

This first half of the 49th Annual All Sports Association Awards Banquet, which took place at the Emerald Coast Convention Center on Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach, Florida on February 16, 2018.

The highlight event of the year for the All Sports Association, the Awards banquet identifies and honors the finest athletes from Northwest Florida. The recognized individuals not only excel in their sports, they also exemplify characteristics that extend the best in academics and community involvement.

The following athletes are recognized in this first half of the banquet:
– Scholastic Female: Lucy Rudman (10:37)
– Scholastic Male: Steven Azzano (15:22)
– Collegiate Female: Nadia Fingall (21:29)

This second half of the 49th Annual All Sports Association Awards Banquet presents the 2017 Wuerffel Trophy, an award for a college football player who excels at Academics, Athletics and Community Service, to Courtney Love from the University of Kentucky (14:43).

This year’s featured speaker is Herm Edwards, currently the Head Coach at Arizona State University and formerly a ESPN commentator (29:17).

Also recognized was Maddie Hiers, winner of the Taylor Haugen Trophy (00:40), and Ray Chavez, winner of the Al Byrne Award (06:53)

The 2018 All Sports Association Fish Fry took place on February 15th, 2018 at the Northwest Florida Fairgrounds in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The MC for the evening was local sports radio personality, Scott Moore, who not only entertained us with his many college football coaches impersonations, but also induced the athletes from the surround high schools who were in the audience as well as introduce the featured keynote speaker for the evening, the current head football coach of the University of West Florida.


The All Sports Association 2018 Hall of Fame Induction and Past Presidents Luncheon took place on February 14, 2018 at the Emerald Coast Convention Center on Okaloosa Island in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This year’s inductees were former FWB high school football coach,and Chester Norris and Choctawhatchee grad and University of Southern Mississippi receiver Billy Mikel.
